I loved it when I started it, I still love it now, and I'll probably continue to love it for sometime.
I don't know exactly why...this is the first time I've ever REALLY been involved with a webcomic of all things; I'm usually a stickler for books and tend to stay away from comics. But since I began to shift toward illustration and decided to major in animation in college (when I get there of course, but I digress), I've had more and more sympathy for cartoonists and comic artists...with Andrew Hussie and Homestuck being a shoo-in for my most favorite artist and comic of all time.
Hussie definitely has a way of combining the elements of his story to create something that's not only hilarious to read, but make it so that the ENTIRE thing isn't just some random joke. Homestuck has a very deep, very complicated plot that he pulls off with aplomb, even with minimal text (save a few Pesterlogs, my word some of those are long) and pictures drawn on a program as simple as MSPaint. It definitely shows that you don't need anything fancy to make a good story; you could just as easily pull of something meaningful with only the basics of the basics.
...Wow, I'm waxing philosophical here. I think I just impressed myself.
Anyway, reasoning aside, I have to say that while I'm a big fan of the kids (Jade being my favorite kid) and the trolls (Terezi being my favorite troll) the characters that I think really stand out among the rest are the carapacefolk. They may be minor, but they're the most interesting out of all of them. I have to admit that I enjoyed the Intermission maybe a little bit more than I care to admit simply because it centered around the carapaces...alsoifanyonecaresmyfavoriteMCmemberisDroog. ^///^
